Introduction :

Prem Kahani is a 1975 Hindi film produced by Lekhraj Khosla, and directed and written by Raj Khosla. The film stars Rajesh Khanna, Mumtaz, Shashi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna and K. N Singh. The film's music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

Summary :

Rajesh Khanna is in love with Mumtaz in their college days. But he chooses to become revolutionary freedom fighter and abandons Mumtaz due to the fear that he might die during his struggle leaving her as a widow. The vicissitude of time, however, gets Mumtaz married to Shashi Kapoor, a police inspector, and lso a friend of Rajesh Khanna. Rajesh Khanna takes refuge at Shashi Kapoor's government quarters and encounters his past as he meets Mumtaz again. Eventually, Shashi Kapoor gets to know of their past relationship. He is encountered with the challenge of believing the chastity of his marriage or the doubt in his mind whether his trust has been broken while he was away from home on duty.

Rajesh Khanna takes the lead and gets himself killed by Mumtaz to convince him that Mumtaz indeed loved Shashi Kapoor and not him.

राजेश नरेन छोटे शहर में रहने वाला एक आम इंसान है जो अपने भाई ब्रिजेश, भाभी और भतीजी मुन्नी के साथ रहता है| राजेश कामिनी को बहुत चाहता है और दोनों जल्दी ही शादी करने का फैसला करते हैं| ब्रिजेश राजनीती से जुड़ा हुआ है और चाहता है कि अँगरेज़ भारत छोड़कर चले जाएँ|

राजेश कि राजनीती में कोई  दिलचस्पी  नहीं है| लेकिन चीज़ें बदल जाती है जब ब्रिजेश की मौत हो जाती है और राजेश खुद को आज़ादी के लिए लड़ने वालों के साथ जोड़ लेता है| इस दौरान वह कामिनी से शादी करने के लिए भी  इनकार कर देता है और कामिनी अपने पिता की मर्ज़ी से कहीं और शादी कर लेती है| राजेश कानून से  भागता है और एक पठान ट्रक ड्राईवर  शेर खान  राजेश को उसके बचपन के दोस्त धीरज कुमार के घर आसरा देता है बिना ये जाने कि धीरज कामिनी का पति है| शेर  खान को  पुलिस पकड़ लेती है और वह पुलिस को राजेश का पता बता देता है| धीरज राजेश को पकडवाने में पुलिस की मदद करता है जब उसे पता चलता है कि राजेश कामिनी को चाहता था|

It received four stars in the Bollywood guide Collections. The film grossed 2,30,00,000 at the box office in 1975 and became a box office superhit.
